Abstract

يتسم عالم اليوم بسرعة التطور والتغير . فإلى وقت ليس ببعيد كان خبراء وعلماء العالم يتحدثون عن تأثيرات مجتمع المعلومات وخصائصه، الذي أصبحت فيه المعلومة بمثابة الثروة. ومن يمتلكها ويسيطر عليها ويحسن استثمارها يملك التفوق والتميز. غير أن التحولات المسرعة التي شهدها العالم جعلتنا نستفيق على نوع آخر من التحديات والمتمثل في التحول غير المنتظر والمفاجئ, إلى مجتمع غير من اهتماماته من المعلومات إلى ما يسمى بالمعرفة، فاستبدلت عبارة مجتمع المعلومات إلى مجتمع المعرفة، وصناعة المعلومات إلى صناعة المعرفة واقتصاد المعلومات إلى اقتصاد المعرفة. ولمؤسسات المعلومات والمكتبات خاصة الدور الريادي االمساهم في تثبيت أركان هذا الاقتصاد الجديد المبني على المعرفة، لا سيما وهي الحاضنة الأولى للمعرفة ومصادرها.Today's world is characterized by rapid development and change. Not long ago, the world's experts and scientists were talking about the effects and characteristics of the information society, in which information has become like wealth. Whoever owns it, controls it, and invests well in it has superiority and distinction, the rapid transformations that the world witnessed made us wake up to another type of challenges, which is the unexpected and sudden transformation into a society that changed its interests from information to what is called knowledge, so the phrase information society was replaced with the knowledge society, the information industry became the knowledge industry, and the information economy became an economy Knowledge. Information institutions and libraries in particular have a pioneering role in contributing to establishing the foundations of this new knowledge-based economy, especially as they are the primary incubator of knowledge and its sources.
