الدلالة التصورية وعلاقة اللغة بالفكر عند ستيفن بنكر

Abstract

يهدف هذا المقال إلى إبراز أهم آراء ستيفن بنكر فيما يخص اللغة والدلالة والذهن. ويتناول بالأخص وجهة نظر بنكر في العلاقة بين اللغة والفكر. فاللغة والفكر عند بنكر منفصلان؛ فهناك لغة للفكر مستقلة تسبق اللغة الشفهية (المنطوقة)؛ ولغة الفكر هذه هي الدلالة التصورية. كما يتناول الانتقادات التي وجهها بنكر إلى الفرضيات التي تناولت العلاقة بين اللغة والفكر واعتبرتهما مترابطين: الحتمية اللغوية، وفطرية التصورات، والاستعارة العرفانية؛ موضحا الفروق الموجودة بينها وأفضلية الدلالة التصورية في تفسير العلاقة بينهما. الكلمات المفتاحية: Abstact: This article aims to highlight Steven Pinker's views concerning language, semantics and mind. It deals mainly with Pinker's view concerning the relation between language and thought. For Pinker language and thought are distinct; there is a language of thought which precedes verbal language; and this language of thought, mentalese, is conceptual semantics. It deals also with Pinker's criticism to hypotheses that tackeled language and thought as connected: innateness of concepts, language determinism, and conceptual metaphor showing that conceptual semantics can better account for the relationship between them.
